Father’s Day Part 2

This past weekend, Colby’s dad and step mom came to visit us. I was super excited because we’ve done a lot to the house since the last time they were here (18 months ago!) and I couldn’t wait to show them everything! This was also the first father’s day we were better off financially and could actually DO something to show appreciation for Colby’s dad and make his day super special. Sunday morning I made a delicious brunch of croque madames. I was so happy to hear that asparagus is one of David and Debbie’s favorite vegetables so it was a big hit! We then took him and Debbie to go see Iron Man 2. For not seeing the first one, I wasn’t lost at all and I thought it was really good! Afterwards, we came back home and did a whole lot of relaxation (one of our favorite things to do, of course!) and then we took them to dinner at Williamson’s.

For so long Colby and I have always had to just send a card to show our appreciation. It was nice, after 6 years, to be able to spend Father’s Day with David and Debbie. We are super happy to have had them here to celebrate with and to make his day super special. It’s so hard when families grow up and everyone moves to different places to realize that you don’t know when you’ll get to spend certain special days with the people you love. It just so happened to work out that David and Debbie could be here and we were glad we were all together for Father’s Day.

The day after Father’s Day I took David, Debbie, and Colby aside to get a quick couple of pictures together. Happy Father’s Day David! Thank you for being a great father to Colby and a great father in law to me!

Halloween 2009!

Colby and I welcomed Halloween the same way we do every year… By me dressing the dogs up in ridiculous costumes. Well, not that ridiculous. Bentley was a Dinosaur, Riley wore a shirt that said, “Same poop, different day,” and Jayda wore a hoodie with bones on the outside of it that glow in the dark. I don’t have pictures of Riley and Jayda’s costumes, well, because the pictures I took were in our kitchen which has the worst lighting and flooring… So the pictures look terrible and I didn’t want to post them.. So You’ll get to see Bentley’s. We decided that this year we were going to get three pumpkins and carve each of the dog’s faces into them. Well, Riley destroyed Bentley’s pumpkin before we got to carve it so I went to get him another one yesterday and they were gone… So thanks to Riley, Bentley didn’t get a pumpkin. Maybe next year… We spent the day cleaning out the garage and had a few trick-or-treaters come around in the middle of the afternoon, but aside from that, we didn’t have any trick-or-treaters after dark. So we have a huge bag of candy and gum left over… most of which Colby has already eaten. I’m not a candy bar fan. So after the garage was cleaned (yay!) Colby decided it was time…. time to partake in .50 corn dog night at the new Sonic they just built here in Joliet… So we went, waited in a long line but finally got a parking space and we took advantage of the .50 corn dogs. After that we watched Paul Blart, Mall Cop which we were afraid was going to be stupid, but turned out to be good. It’s comedy was like any Adam Sandler movie I’ve seen, which I think is funny. That was about it for our Halloween! Oh! And I should mention, Halloween is also my mom’s birthday! So Happy Birthday Mom! I spent awhile on the phone with her while I watched Colby clean the garage… I was sitting down… I’m sure he loved that! hahaha! Anyway, Happy Halloween!

So we still don’t know what got into Jayda, but she was being a very disobedient little lady outside. This was THE only good picture we got of her next to her pumpkin.

And lastly, a picture of all my babies in the fallen leaves. They’re so sweet. I love them all! I’m so glad Riley is still around after his incident.

Smile :)

Sometimes, when I’m editing photos, I catch myself with a big smile on my face. For some reason when I see two people smiling at each other, making funny faces, etc, I just get a huge grin on my face without even noticing. These past few days I’ve been editing Michelle and Ken’s wedding photos and caught myself with a huge grin on my face to the picture below. I just couldn’t help it! I must have been smiling all along but this was the one I caught myself smiling at. The wedding was located in Pilcher Park in Joliet. This is Michelle and Ken’s 3 month older daughter Mia (pronounced Mee-yuh).

On top of that, today is our final blog-a-day challenge blog It has been so fun blogging every day. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed blogging.
