Merry Christmas!

I don’t know about you, but I had a blast this past Christmas. My family came in for Christmas. My mom, dad, little brother, little brother’s girlfriend, and one of my older brother’s flew in on Tuesday the 23rd. What a terrible day to fly in. They flew into O’Hare, which was a nightmare because of the delays, and then they had rented a mini van to drive back to my husband and I’s home with… 6 hour long story short… it took 6 hours to drive home in the snow and holiday traffic. What a nightmare! We then took them to their rooms and my mom, dad, and I went out to Whole Foods to buy the fixings for Christmas dinner and left right as they were closing. The next day we took the Metra into the city to meet my oldest brother, who lives in the city, and we let him open his gifts and he took us all out to lunch and his gift to the family. We ate at a great Greek restaurant called Pegasus. It was delish! After we ate, we jumped back on the Metra and got home in time to get ready to go to our church’s Christmas Eve service. After that, we came back and I cooked us all a delish chicken dinner in our SWEET pressure cooker (thanks Dana!). Then, Christmas came! We slept late, opened presents and then the funnest part of the day came. Since we were buried under a lot of snow, I decided we should all go sledding. We have a steep embankment across the street from us and a huge mound of dirt at a construction site in the distance. So, we set out for sledding and had an EXCELLENT time! I didn’t start cooking Christmas dinner until 4:30… Needless to say, we didn’t eat until 9 pm. Anyway, I’ve attached some of the picture from our day of sledding. It was sooo fun. My family is leaving tomorrow morning:(But, they’ll be back in February for Hustle up the Hancock.
